How accurate is the AI vision scan?

Vision detection is approximate. Each detected room carries a confidence score (0-100%); items below 60% are flagged in the result. Always review the detected rooms before trusting the compliance score. For ground-truth scoring, use the text-input form at /vastu where you specify rooms and directions yourself.

Is my floor plan stored anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. The image flows from your browser → Anthropic vision API → discarded. We don't persist the image to disk or any database. The only data retained is anonymized rate-limit count (which resets daily).

Why is there a 5-per-day limit?

Accepted Answer

Each scan calls the Anthropic Claude vision API which has a real per-request cost. The 5/IP/day limit lets the tool stay free forever without burning API budget. Need more? Sign up for a paid tier (50/day) — coming in v2.

Question 4

What kind of floor plan works best?

Accepted Answer

A clean architectural drawing with labeled rooms (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, etc.) and a north arrow. Hand-drawn sketches work but with lower confidence. Photos of physical blueprints work best when the labels are legible and the image isn't tilted.

What if my floor plan has no compass marker?

The vision call infers facing direction from sun-direction labels (E for sunrise side) or defaults to N with a notes caveat. For accuracy, add a compass arrow before uploading — or use the text-input form at /vastu where you enter facing direction yourself.
